The construction of the Calderini printing works located in Ozzano dell'Emilia (Bologna) was completed in 2006. The building consists of approx. 19600sq.m of floor space. The fully air conditioned production areas, printing and book binding, are divided from the two storey office block by an internal court which forms a backdrop to the main entrance foyer. The northern front to the production area is characterized by a 9m high glazed wall which allows workers an uninterrupted external view and also allows visitors to perceive the internal production area from the outside. An overhanging cornice links the various elements of the building together and provides protection to the facades from the elements. The eastern facade behind which are located the offices have deeply recessed strip windows to provide sun shading.
